You would never have known that my wife had Multiple Sclerosis if you met her when we were married. I've told you it was Progressive. Some years later she found she needed a cane. I can still remember the tears that welled up as she walked up the sidewalk on our way to our Church's 11:00 Service. As time went on, the cane was replaced with a 3 wheel walker that was later replaced with an electric scooter that has now been replaced with an electric wheelchair.
